Senior Leadership Development Institute

A subgroup of Serving Seniors’ Civic Engagement Group, the Senior Leadership Development Institute gathers weekly and focuses specifically on providing seniors with the knowledge, tools and training they need to be active and engaged community leaders.

Seniors attend workshops on public speaking, peer critiques of speech writing and delivery, how to use PowerPoint slides to enhance speeches, how to be a compelling advocate, social and political issues and more.

If you’re interested in participating in the Senior Leadership Development group, or represent an organization in need of senior volunteers, please call Tim Ruis: 619-487-0727.

We’ll take photos and share them online as part of the campaign. Next week, we’ll deliver all the paper plates to Congressman Scott Peters and encourage him to ask other Members of Congress to continue funding and support for congregate and home-delivered meal programs.
