Notes to Our Sons & Daughters – Event Highlights
On 10.11.12 Senior Community Centers (SCC) hosted a unique photographic exhibit and reception celebrating our city’s collective wisdom. Evocative portraits of San Diego’s most distinguished and senior individuals were the focal point along with photos of some of the remarkable seniors we serve at SCC. Photographs were accompanied by a “note” from each subject revealing lessons learned traversing life’s vicissitudes to be passed on to the next generation, our collective “sons and daughters“. By placing the beautiful faces of senior leaders in San Diego next to the beautiful faces of the seniors at SCC, we will show how wisdom and beauty are not constrained by socio-economic confines, but rather pervade our city…we just need the capacity and wisdom to capture them.

The exhibition was a fundraising project benefiting seniors through the works of San Diego’s Senior Community Centers and supports our advocacy efforts promoting a positive portrayal of aging.
Special thanks to our Honorary Chair Darlene Marcos Shiley and Emcee Marion Ross from TV series Happy Days.
Please enjoy our photos capturing hundreds of smiles and the stunning ambiance at the Port Pavilion:
