Seniors First San Diego
Every person aspires to age gracefully. Seniors First San Diego aims to depict positive aging; which is important not only to seniors, but society as a whole. If we’re lucky, one day we will all grow up to become a senior.
More and more adults in their 30s and 40s find themselves in what is called the Sandwich Generation: adults who are busy taking care of their own kids and their parents as well. This is why Seniors First San Diego encourages these younger adults who care for their aging parents and grandparents to connect and voice their concerns to help shape legislation that affects seniors now and in the future.
Seniors First San Diego is Senior Community Centers’ countywide coal
ition of seniors, people who care for seniors and organizations; and to be the voice for seniors on issues affecting them.
Outreach Efforts
We offer two workshops >>>click here to read more:
- Senior Advocacy Workshop
- Advocacy 101 for Organizations
In the community through our presentations, we work hard educating and engaging the public on issues facing older adults, like ageism. In addition, we discuss opportunities to support older adults through issue education citing public policy, such as Elder Economic Security Initiative and the Elder Index.
