Executive Team
Paul Downey, President and CEO
Paul has led Senior Community Centers for nearly fifteen years, successfully addressing growing demand by expanding programs and services, and spearheading the organization’s move into affordable permanent housing. He administers the agency’s annual budget, determines program priorities with the Chief Operating Officer and oversees agency public relations and advocacy efforts. Paul serves on several local, state and national boards and is widely recognized as an expert on aging issues.
Maureen Piwowarski, LCSW, Chief Operating Officer
Maureen oversees all nutrition, clinical, health, advocacy, and housing programs. She is the primary point of contact with all collaborative partners and consultants and works with the CEO on new program initiatives.
Mary Mazyck, RN, Vice President of Programs and Services Mary oversees all clinical services, including health, social service, and mental health programs. She is responsible for program implementation and management, including Quality Assurance and monitoring functions.
Kathy Parker, Vice President of Operations
Kathy oversees the agency’s operations, including housing, facilities and food service management, working closely with staff at all levels to ensure that infrastructure supports program delivery. Kathy has decades of experience in operations, administration and business development.
Brent Wakefield, Vice President of Development
Brent oversees agency advancement by providing leadership in identifying, cultivating and soliciting philanthropic support from community members, corporations, foundations and other individuals. The relationships this office helps create and steward aim to advance the agency’s mission and strengthen its ties with the community. Brent has over 15 years of experience in strengthening institutional networks and in fundraising.
Rick Roark, Vice President of Finance and Accounting
Rick oversees the financial management of the organization including grant compliance, accounts payable and receivable, purchasing, payroll, banking, internal controls, budgeting, cost allocation, general accounting, investments, and more. He is also responsible for the strategic analysis of current and potential agency operations from a financial perspective. Rick has a strong financial background and has held director and officer positions in the nonprofit sector for over 12 years.
