2. Who do you serve?
Senior Community Centers serves adults 60+ regardless of race, color, religion, sex, marital or civil union status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, place of birth, ancestry, citizenship, military or veteran status or disability. Senior Community Centers is dedicated to provide the highest quality of service to enhance the health and well-being of individuals, families and the community at-large. Our staff, board and volunteers believe each and every person is created equal and worthy of dignity and respect. We strive to create a safe place for all with zero tolerance for discrimination.
3. Who is eligible for your services?
All individuals age 60 and older are eligible for our congregate meals and senior center activities, as well as social services.
Those people age 62 and older are eligible for permanent affordable housing at Potiker Family Senior Residence in East Village and City Heights Square in City Heights.

5. Do you charge for meals?
All of our sites request a nominal donation, but no one will be turned away for being unable to donate.
6. Do you deliver meals to home-bound seniors?
Yes, we do! For more information about our meals program, please call our HDM Coordinator, Ronda Scott, at (619) 487-0707.
7. What are your hours?
The Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center is open Monday – Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and weekends from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Administrative office hours are 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.
8. How do I find out more about the Homeless Prevention Program?
For more information on our Homeless Prevention Program, please call (619) 487-0719. We also offer walk-in evaluations at the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center at 1525 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. Walk-in hours are Tuesday afternoons from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
9. How can I meet with a social worker?
Walk-in hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (closing at 2:00 p.m. on Thursdays) at the Gary and Mary West Senior Wellness Center located downtown at 1525 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101.

11. How can I support your work?
We invite you to make monetary contributions in any amount that you are comfortable with. Visit our donation page for more information. We also welcome volunteers to help with our Lifelong Learning classes and to serve meals. For more information, please visit the How To Help page.
12. Do you need volunteers?
Always! Volunteers provide much needed support to the agency and there are many ways you can help. From helping serve meals to teaching a class, there is something everyone can do to assist the seniors and our mission. 13. Do you accept donations of clothes, furniture and other goods?
Due to a lack of storage space, we are limited on what we can accept. Please visit our How to Help page to find out if non-monetary items are needed or call 619-487-0727.

16. How do I know you are a reputable charity?
Whenever donating to a new charity, you should always do your research to make sure that they are legitimate.
