2. Who is eligible for your services?
All individuals age 60 and older are eligible for our congregate meals and senior center activities, as well as social services.
Those people age 62 and older are eligible for permanent, supportive housing at our City Heights and East Village residences.
3. Where do you serve meals?
Congregate meals are served at the following locations:
Central
Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center 1525 4th Avenue, San Diego 92101
- Breakfast is served Monday – Friday from 7am to 8:30am; Saturday from 8 am to 9am.
- Lunch is served Monday – Friday at 11am, 12:15pm and 1:30pm; Saturday at 11:30am and 12:45pm
- Sunday Brunch is served at 11am and 12pm.
South Bay

Mira Mesa

4. Do you charge for meals?
All of our sites request a nominal donation, but no one will be turned away for being unable to donate.
5. Do you deliver meals to home-bound seniors?
Yes, we do! For more information about our meals program, please call our HDM Coordinator, Ronda Scott, at (619) 487-0707.
6. What are your hours?
The Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center is open Monday – Friday between 7am and 4pm and weekends from 8am until 2pm.
Administrative office hours are 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday.
7. How do I find out more about the Transitional Housing Program?
For more information on our Transitional Housing program, please call (619) 487-0719. We also offer walk-in evaluations at the Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center at 1525 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. Walk-in hours are Tuesday afternoons from 1:00pm to 3:30pm.
8. How can I meet with a social worker?
We have two social workers available to meet with anyone 60 years of age and older at the Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center at 1525 4th Avenue, San Diego, CA 92101. Walk-in hours are Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 8:00am to 11:00am. Scheduled appointments are available in the afternoon and on Wednesdays. We have two supportive housing facilities available to seniors 62 and older who qualify:

10. How can I support your work?
There are many ways to help Senior Community Centers! We welcome donations of any monetary amount and in-kind non-monetary donations. Also, we welcome volunteers to help with our Lifelong Learning classes and in serving meals, among other things. For more information, please visit the How To Help page.
11. Do you need volunteers?
Always! Volunteers provide much needed support to the agency and there are many ways you can help. From helping serve meals to teaching a class, there is something everyone can do to assist the seniors and our mission. 12. Do you accept donations of clothes, furniture and other goods?
Due to a lack of storage space, we are limited on what we can accept. Please visit our How to Help page for a current list of needed items.

14. Can I take a tour of the Gary & Mary West Senior Wellness Center?
Yes, we would be happy to give you a tour of the facility! Please call (619) 487-0605 or send an email to info@servingseniors.org to schedule a convenient time to visit.
15. How do I know you are a reputable charity?
Whenever donating to a new charity, you should always do your research to make sure that they are legitimate. We are proud to be listed on GuideStar.org and the San Diego Foundation’s Better Giving website. Another good research tool is your standard search engine, like Google.
